An elderly groom decided he would find a different outfit in which to renew his wedding vows - his birthday suit.
Stuart Haywood confessed his love for his wife of 55 years while wearing nothing but a beaming smile, after having taken up naturism just six years earlier.
78-year-old renewed his vows with wife Rhona, 84, in June this year, but while his love opted for navy trousers, a white blouse and a blue cardigan, Mr Haywood opted to wear nothing except shoes and socks for the ceremony in Skegness, Lincolnshire.
The couple chose June so the weather would be warmer and even the minister was naked.
In fact, Rhona was the only person there who was wearing clothes.
Mr Haywood, a retired gardener, said: "If you’d told me 55 years ago that I’d be renewing my vows in the nude I’d have said you were mad.
"But there I was – naked as the day I was born except a pair of shoes and socks.”
The couple, from Swadlincote, Derbyshire, first married in December 1960 in a small, intimate and fully-dressed ceremony.
This time everything was bigger, including musicians from London and Lincolnshire providing the entertainment.
Mr Haywood said: "For some considerable time we have entertained the idea of putting on a musical concert as we are both huge fans of classical music.
“For one reason or another it kept falling through, so I thought to do it as part of renewing our vows.”
