A BRITISH terrorist who helped set up an Islamist training camp in the US has been jailed.

A BRITISH terrorist who helped set up an Islamist training camp in the US has been jailed today at a court in New York.

Haroon Rashid Aswat

In 2013, the European Court of Human Rights blocked his extradition because of his mental condition.
But after assurances from the US that Aswat would receive adequate care, London's High Court approved the extradition and he arrived in the country in October 2014.
Prosecutors say Aswat, a British citizen of Indian descent, and another man, Oussama Kassir, went to Oregon 16 years ago at the request of radical cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri to set up the camp in a town called Bly.
Aswat's intended role was to provide religious training at the camp, which prosecutors say was set up to support al-Qaeda and had the "terrifying objective" of training Muslim men to fight in Afghanistan.

At the time of his plea earlier this year, Aswat said he had suffered from symptoms of schizophrenia for the last 20 years and was being treated.
Aswat, who is originally from West Yorkshire, is believed to have been in close contact with the four suicide bombers in the days before the London terror attacks on three Tube trains and a bus.
He was also an associate of the infamous British extremist Abu Hamza.

The one-eyed, handless Abu Hamza was convicted at trial in May 2014 by US District Judge Katherine Forrest, who will also sentence Aswat and in January handed Abu Hamza a life term.
In court filings, lawyers for Aswat said a prison term of 12-and-a-half years would be appropriate, saying he was a gentle man who never condoned violence.
But prosecutors have asked for the maximum sentence of 20 years, calling him a "loyal and devoted follower" of Abu Hamza.
Aswat's lawyers have also said they hope he receives credit for time he has spent in custody since his arrest in Zambia in 2005 and deportation to Britain.

British Nigerian pervert jailed for masturbating on woman aboard London train

Peter Fabiyi, 32, received a 45-month prison sentence after he was arrested last year for masturbating on a female train passenger while riding the London Underground subway train.
A British pervert was jailed after he masturbated and then ejaculated on a terrified female train passenger. Peter Fabiyi approached the woman as she sat alone on a London Underground subway train in July last year.

The 32-year-old then performed the solo sex act when they were both alone in the carriage, after which she fled in panic.

Fabiyi admitted sexual assault at a hearing last month, and was sentenced to 45 months in prison at Blackfriars Crown Court in London.

Fabiyi was also handed a sexual harm prevention order, stopping him from approaching women sitting alone on trains except for staff.

At the time of the incident, British Transport Police followed Fabiyi to a station where he slid under ticket barriers to avoid paying a fare.

"This was a hugely shocking and frightening incident for this woman, and I commend her for having the awareness and courage to report the offense and support the prosecution," said Detective Constable Jennifer Brown, who led the investigation. "This sentence sends the clear message that sexual behavior on trains or at stations is completely unacceptable and police will use every method at our disposal to identify people responsible and bring you before the courts — it is simply not worth it

Mother took selfie of boyfriend pointing gun at her, hours before he allegedly shot her dead

An Arkansas woman posted selfies on social media showing her boyfriend pointing a gun at her head hours before he allegedly shot her dead, police said.
Stephanie Hernandez, mother of a 3-year-old and an 8-month-old daughter, on Sunday she posted one picture of a gun and ammo in her Little Rock home.
She also sent a Snapchat photo showing her smiling at the camera while her boyfriend, Rafael Gonzalez, holds a gun behind her head, "Strap Chat," the caption said, punning a slang term for carrying a gun.

That night, the 21-year-old was found dead from a gunshot wound in her house. Police found the home ransacked, with blood all over a floor.

The next day, Gonzalez, 20, was arrested and charged for first-degree murder, police said.

It’s unclear what led to Gonzalez allegedly shooting his girlfriend. Hernandez’s daughters were with relatives when the shooting happened, her friends said.

Hernandez’s family members were horrified to see the pictures she had taken, not knowing they would be her last.
“They were disturbing to see (Gonzalez) holding a gun,” Hernandez’s uncle Rey Hernandez said. “I guess they were loaded. In her back  it is just mind-blowing. I don’t understand how anybody could do that.” Now they’re left to explain to Hernandez’s little girls what happened. My nieces have been crying all night,” Hernandez’s sister Camryn Startz told the new reporter. I haven't told my 3-year-old niece anything yet. She knows something is wrong because she wants her mom.”
Relatives said Hernandez had just moved into a new home weeks ago and was supposed to start a job Monday morning.

One friend, Jaquinlan Davis, said Hernandez’s boyfriend was “a bad influence” and the two had a rocky, on-and-off relationship.

Capt. Tina Nieto said the police department has a consul liaison that checks with foreign nations’ consulates regarding a certain person’s diplomatic immunity. Nieto said Al-Saud doesn’t have immunity in this case.

Tennyson Collins, a neighbor, saw a bleeding woman trying to scale the property’s 8-foot wall on Wednesday. When Collins returned home from work, police followed his car through the gates and then onto the property. He said officers escorted about 20 people out of the compound, most of them staff members.

Police said Al-Saud was only renting the home, which Zillow values at $37 million. Collins said different foreign nationals have been renting out the home for weeks at a time over the past year.

Beverly Hills is fast becoming a playground for the mega rich from the Middle East.

For the past few summers, rich young Saudis, Qataris, Kuwaitis and other Middle Easterners, accompanied by their personal Ferraris, Bugattis and Aventadors, have flocked to the area after their former haunts in Paris, London, Cannes and Monaco became less receptive to the crush of super-expensive supercars with Arabic tags drawing crowds of gaping rubberneckers

Ifeanyi, who has lived in Brazil for a year, said: “I work in a restaurant in Brazil.
I sincerely want to get married and have a family. In the process of trying to make more money, I was given 59 wraps of cocaine to take to Nigeria for N400,000. Trado-medical practitioner, couple arrested over sale of two-week-old baby for N130,000

trado-medical-practitioner  The buyer

A couple and a traditional medical practitioner have been arrested over alleged sale of a two-week and four-day- -old baby for N136,000, at Ipaja area of Lagos.
The principal suspect, Mr Onolaja Olawale, a traditional medical practitioner,  was alleged to have sold the baby to Mr and Mrs Dele  Ayogbile, who have been barren for six years  years,   last week, after informing them that the biological mother was dead.

But the bubble burst after co-tenants of the couple who claimed never to have seen Mrs Oluwakemi Ayogbinle pregnant, suspected foul play and contacted the police.

To the surprise of all, the baby, according to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, who paraded the suspects before journalists yesterday, was discovered to have been sold to the couple.

Preliminary investigation according to Owoseni, showed that the traditional-medical practitioner was a family friend to parents of the baby he sold.

biological-mother-and-child

Mother of the baby, Mrs Idiat Babatunde, who had just concluded her Higher National Diploma, HND, at the  Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State, claimed to have left the baby in the care of the Olawales, in their Ikola Ipaja home,  eight days after delivery (September 13, 2015). Same day, she  reportedly left for school to conclude documentation in her faculty , towards  the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps.

But next day, the trado-medical practitioner was said to have invited the barren couple to come and pick a baby for adoption.

When approached, Olawale did not deny the allegation. Rather, he stated  that mother of the baby was aware of the planned adoption, alleging that she collected N70,000 of the initial payment of N136,000 for the sale of the baby.

He said: “Mrs Babatunde gave me the baby to take care of because my wife is also breastfeeding.  We have been family friends . But when I discovered that taking care of two children at the same same time was burdensome on my wife,  who gave birth through caesarean, I decided to give the baby to a client who I have been giving concoction for child birth.  I informed the baby’s biological mother before giving the baby out. I told her that the baby would be with the new mother for three months.

“I collected N130,000 from the new mother, Mrs Oluwakemi Ayogbinle, and an additional N6,000 which I said would be used to process adoption forms at Alausa, Ikeja, to avoid any embarrassment. I even gave the biological mother N70,000 out of the money.

“The actual amount I told the new parents was N300,000. But they only paid N136,000.” But the biological mother denied knowledge of the sale of her baby, let alone collecting any money from Olawale. She explained that she dropped her baby with the Olawales on trust, with the intention of returning after one week  later for the baby.”

On her part, the woman who collected the baby from the trado-medical practitioner, blamed her action on  her state of bareness for six years. The climax of her predicament, according to her, came  when her husband abandoned her.

Ayogbile said: “I have been taking herbs from Mr Olawale since 2013 because of the incessant miscarriages.  After several effort to get pregnant proved abortive, my husband left our home last year.

“At a point, Olawale suggested I should adopt a baby. He called me on Monday to come for a baby. I decided to contact my husband because of the amount Olawale demanded. But my husband insisted that he must have documents to  back up the adoption before he would take the baby. So, he brought N136,000 as part payment.”

Britons Shocked After 'Burglar' Dies In Villa

Trevor and Jill Taylor

A couple and their son are said to be receiving counselling after allegedly fighting off a burglar who died at their £1.5m home.

A suspected burglar has died after he was restrained by a British father and son who allegedly caught him breaking into their £1.5m villa on the Algarve in Portugal.

It is thought the suspect, who was discovered at the house on the outskirts of Vilamoura, was still alive when police first arrived after being called by the British man's wife.

Officers found the father and son - named locally as Trevor and Scott Taylor - grappling with the suspect while Jill Taylor was in the garden, according to sources.

The father, 60, was on top of the suspect while the son had his arm around his neck, it is believed.

The suspected intruder is understood to have suffered heart failure as officers went to handcuff him and they were unable to revive him.

It is alleged Mrs Taylor, 59, had heard a noise in the house, went to investigate and found a man with family possessions in his hands including their car keys.

She screamed and then her husband and son came into the room and apprehended him before police arrived in the early hours of Sunday.

Villa

The father and son are believed to have sustained minor injuries and have been questioned by officers but not arrested.

However, if they want to leave the neighbourhood they have to inform the Portuguese authorities.

Now it is up to the public prosecutor to decide if legal action is brought.

A source said: "Police received a call around 4am on Sunday and when GNR officers arrived, found the wife waiting for them in the garden.

"The father was on top of the intruder when police went in and his son behind him with his arm round his neck. There had obviously been a struggle and the son was trying to restrain him while his dad tied his hands up.

"They said he was very strong and insisted on staying where they were until police cuffed the burglar.

"At that point they got up and moved away and that's when officers noticed the man was making strange movements.

"On closer examination they saw he was unconscious and didn't appear to be breathing. They tried to revive him but were unsuccessful."

It is understood the trio are "shocked and upset" and are receiving expert counselling after their ordeal.

Mr and Mrs Taylor are keen golfers who retired to Vilamoura to enjoy the area's top golf courses and are believed to have lived in Portugal for around three decades.

Scott Taylor, 31, is understood to be the owner of the property and bought it in 2002.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place to determine the exact cause of the suspect's death.

Police sources said the alleged intruder, a Portuguese man in his twenties who has not been named, was known to them after arrests for robbery.

Under Portuguese law, self-defence is allowed for people to protect their property.

Nevertheless, it must be proportional to the danger that people at the property are under.

PHOTOS/ VIDEO: Nigerian Woman charged with felony theft in shoplifting case in US

A Nigerian woman, Akudihor Jennifer has been nabbed for stealing goods worth over $2,000 at Macy Oak Park Mall, in Johnson County, United States.
Akudihor, who traveled to the United States with her three children on a holiday, was arrested after a CCTV footage showed her stealing over 50 different items including clothes and accessories which she hid under the stroller as she tried to make her way out of the shopping mall.

Akudihor whose passport was seized has been charged with felony with and bail set at $2,500.

According to the spokesperson for the Overland Park Police Department, Sgt. Gary Mason, “…she was very apologetic and remorseful, and that does go a long way, so I think it does help in this situation.”
“Everybody has a story. There is always a lot of reasons why people do this, and it’s not for us to decide. It’s up to the court and the judge to look at her case,” he said.
Mason also stated that the reason for the theft is yet to be ascertained and remains unsure whether she stole the goods or not as no money was found on her as at the time of her apprehension
“This certainly isn’t the way to go about it. Now she’s going to have some legal problems that she’s going to have to deal with,” Mason stated.
