The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Alkali Baba Usman, has said that his command was going all out to make the state unbearable for criminals particularly armed robbers, cultists and kidnappers. Amid worrisome upsurge in cult-related criminal activities in the state.
He said a total of 35 suspected cultists were arrested in the last few weeks by the police in the Warri axis alone.
Three armed robbery suspects also died from gunshot wounds they received during a gun battle with policemen while four other robbery and kidnapping suspects were also in police net, the police commissioner said while briefing journalists at the Warri police area command on Tuesday.
The suspected cult members are believed be of the Aye, Buccaneers, Viking, Neo Black-Axe violent and criminals fraternities, according to the Delta State police boss.
