A research was conducted in a university to find out if theoretical study and practical study both have the same impact or effect. In the first experiment, ten students were selected, five were given books on theory to read for six months about how to drive a car without prior practice.
The other five were not given any books at all but were taken to the road and were given practical training also for six months about how to drive. At the end of the given period, those given the practical training performed much better than those who were given theory lessons, the theory makes you to know ABOUT a thing but practicals, gives you the personal insight into a thing.
In Exodus 4:1 & 2
1 Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The LORD did not appear to you’?”
2 Then the LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied.
It is obvious that Moses had no practical knowledge about God. For God to manifest Himself to Moses, God had to practically demonstrate His power before Moses. You know about God because you read the Bible or you heard a sermon but to know God takes life time experience.
If you were in need and God met your needs, then you know God as Jehovah Jireh, If you were homeless and He put roof over your head, then you know God as your Banner. If you were sick and God healed you then you know him as Jehovah Raphael. It is most likely that God wants you to know Him and so allows you to go through some challenges so you can say with Job ”My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” Job 42:5. After all that Job went through, he saw the Lord in a different way thus he knew the Lord who can double his blessings.
Don’t just know about God,get to know Him. Till we meet again, stay blessed and don’t give up.
