On Monday in Aba, Calamity struck in Hospital Road, Aba, Abia State, as a man identified as Uba Okoroafor stabbed his sister in-law to death and was also committed suicide committing the crime.
The incident, according to sources, was said to have occurred at No. 209 Hospital Road in the commercial city.
Okoroafor stabbed his sister-in-law, whose name was simply given as Oyidiya, because she stopped him from going out because of the state of his health.
A source who claimed to have been reliably informed about the incident, said that Okoroafor after stabbing his sister-in-law stabbed himself and “fell off from the building to the ground where he later died”.
DPO of Ndiegoro Police Division, Superintendent of Police Crescent Mamah, where the incident took place, deployed his men who conveyed Oyidiya to a nearby hospital, where she was confirmed dead by doctors.
Also, Police Public Relations Officer, Ezekiel Udeviotu Onyeke confirmed the incident, saying that Ndiegoro Police Division under whose jurisdiction the incident happened, was already investigating the matter to ascertain the true picture of the incident.
