The murder investigation of Chiara Paez collected shocking findings, as the 14-year-old girl from Rufino, Santa Fe province, Argentina was found buried alive.

The young girl was particularly popular at school and regularly shared personal photos of her life with family and friends to her Instagram and Facebook page.
Chiara also enjoyed sports, and was part of her school field hockey team, with pictures regularly being shared of her with groups of friends.
However, on the May 11, Chiara went missing in her home city, at around 1:30am. Local notices and adverts were released in order to raise awareness and brought together the community in order to help search for Chiara.
As a result, many people got involved, including her boyfriend Manuel Mansilla. The young couple had been dating for a couple of months and both attended the same school and had similar sets of friends.
Chiara PaezThree days after the search began, Chiara’s body was discovered completely beaten under a patio in Manuel’s garden.
The investigation showed that the schoolgirl was eight weeks pregnant and had been tragically buried alive.
In addition, traces of drugs used for abortions were discovered in her body, which was added to charges faced against Mansilla.
Chiara’s boyfriend Manuel confessed to the murder, and was also charged with forced abortion.
Reports and sources suggest that the murder occurred after an argument between Chiara and Manuel emerged concerning her pregnancy.
Speaking about the tragic news, Chiara’s father said: ‘She is a big girl, physically, a height of 1.70m (5’6) and weighing 70kg (150 lbs.). It’s impossible that he [Manuel] had done this alone.’
Chiara’s death created a huge impact on not only her family and friends, but also the entire country as Argentinians were shocked by the increasing number of ‘femicide’ – the murder of women for their gender – over recent months.
Her death encouraged a movement to occur, led by social media and the hashtag #NiUnaMenos (“Not One Less”) as women, men and children in cities across Argentina demanded an end to gender violence.
