Black
Stars captain Asamoah Gyan is reported to have suffered a setback in
the team’s 3-2 win over Congo in an international friendly on Tuesday.
Gyan
is reported to have picked up a knock after coming on as a second half
substitute to help the Black Stars to secure a win over the Central
African side who were using the game to open the newly constructed
Kintele Stadium in Brazzaville.
The Shanghai SIPG attacker could
hence miss Ghana’s crucial Cup of Nations qualifier with Rwanda on
Saturday should e fail to recover on time.
The 29-year-old is however expected to be assessed by the Black Stars medical team to know the extent of the injury.
The
attacker will hence be hoping to lead the side to avenge a defeat
suffered at the hands of their counterparts in the 2003 Cup of Nations
qualifiers.
