Eight of Iran's women's football team 'are men', league official claims

Eight of Iran's women's football team 'are men', it has been claimed. The Iranian FA has been branded 'unethical', after it was alleged the players were actually men awaiting sex change operations.

Authorities reportedly ordered gender testing on Wednesday following the claims, made by Mojtabi Sharifi, an official working closely to the Iranian league.

He told an Iranian news website: “Eight players have been playing with Iran’s female team without completing sex change operations.”

Women's football is popular in Iran, despite religious laws preventing females from watching matches played between male teams. They wear hijab headscarfs, long-sleeved jerseys and tracksuit bottoms to play the game.

Sharifi did not disclose the names of the players who are allegedly male, but did say some had spent their entire careers playing for the women's team, only to disclose their true gender on their last day in the squad.

Doubts began to surface over the legitimacy of some of the players in 2010, when the gender of a goalkeeper in the squad was questioned. In 2014, football's governing body in Iran introduced random testing after it was alleged four of the players were either men who had not undergone sex change operations, or were suffering from sexual development disorders.

Gender operations are legal in the country. The team haven't played in many competitions or matches.

Arsenal are 'soft and weak' blasts Roy Keane ahead of Sunday's Manchester United clash

The Irishman was less than impressed as the Gunners slumped to a 3-2 defeat at home to Olympiacos on Tuesday evening.  Roy Keane has blasted Arsenal as 'soft and weak' following another defeat in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners were heavy pre-match favourites to beat Olympiacos at the Emirates, but were beaten 3-2 on a frustrating evening in north London.

David Ospina came in for particular criticism, after fumbling the ball over his line for the visitors' second goal, and Arsene Wenger's team selection was also called into question, as he left Petr Cech on the bench.

It leaves Arsenal with an uphill struggle to reach the last 16, sitting three points behind both Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos, and still having to play Bayern Munich twice.
Keane said: “They’re soft. They’re weak. “The goals they give away you saw [on Tuesday] night, two set-pieces again. You’ve got no chance of winning any big game if you defend like that.
There is a certain weakness to the group. They look like they lack characters, leaders and winners.”

Wenger lost his temper when probed about why he picked Ospina instead of Cech following the Colombian's clanger.
In a tense post-match press conference, Wenger said: “I do not have to sit here and give you any explanation about every decision I make. It’s a farce. Ospina played 19 games last season, kept 14 clean sheets. Last week at Tottenham, he had a fantastic game. No keeper is mistake-free, it could have happened to Petr Cech as well. That’s part of it.”

Paul Scholes says only one Premier League player would get into Barcelona or Real Madrid's team

Scholes said England's top flight was no longer the destination for the world's best players, and the Premier League's best clubs are now second tier teams. Paul Scholes claims there is only one Premier League player who would get into Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich's team.
And that player doesn't line up for his former side Manchester United , either. The only player in the league he does consider to be among the world's best is Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.

Talking on BT Sport, Paul Scholes said "If you look at the quality of player that comes to England I don’t think we have the best players in Europe or in the world, "The best players are at Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. I think the level below that is probably Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. And under that is where the quality of English clubs come into it. I really don’t think it’s any surprise. When you think about the quality of players we have, do you think any of the players at our top clubs now would get in the Barcelona team? I very much doubt it. They wouldn’t get in the Real Madrid team or the Bayern Munich team. Maybe Sergio Aguero is the exception."

Is Sergio Aguero the best player in the Premier League? Let's read your opinion.

Ministerial list: How Buhari’s last minute change favoured Ngige

After a long wait, President Muhammadu Buhari finally submitted the list of his cabinet to the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

The president has been at the receiving end of harsh criticisms by angry Nigerians over his ‘deliberate’ refusal to unveil his ministers three months after assuming office.

The president had anchored the reason for the delay on the ground that he needed time to select those who were credible and trustworthy to run the affairs of the nation with him.The list, which was submitted to the senate president, Bukola Saraki yesterday by Buhari’s Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Itan Enang would be officially made public at the next plenary on Tuesday.

However, report has it that among those penned down for ministerial appointments were, immediate past governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, former lawmaker, Chris Ngige and erstwhile governor of old Anambra State, Ogbonaya Onu, among others.

However, sources said that Chris Ngige’s name came in at the eleventh hour.

According to a top presidency source, President Buhari, who has been constantly accused of marginalizing Ndigbo over their refusal to support him during the election, didn’t have it in mind to appoint Ngige. The source said further that Ngige’s appointment was done to mainly compensate Ndigbo.

“Ngige was not part of the first list of people compiled, I can tell you that. His name came at the eleventh hour. The president had a change of mind because of the complaints in many quarters that he was punishing the south east region because of their refusal to vote for him during the election.

“It took the intervention of some close associates and aides for the appointment of Ngige.”

Asked if president Buhari was truly angry with the south easterners because of the outcome of the election, the source said the president had nothing against them.

“See, that notion is wrong. The good thing is that Buhari has won the election and that is it. Where the vote came from is not the main issue now. Remember, he said he belongs to nobody and belongs to everybody,” the source added.

STRANGE BUT TRUE: Baby is born with two TUBES on his face instead of a nose

The parents of a baby born with two tubes growing out of his face instead of a nose have been told by doctors that he is doing well and will soon look completely normal. The baby boy, who has been named Angelito - meaning little angel or cherub -  was born at the hospital of Caleta, in the city of Chimbote, in the west Peruvian province of Santa.

The boy's mother Lorena Rodriguez Zavaleta, 20, and his unnamed father, are constantly at their newborn's bedside.
The baby was transferred from his home in Nuevo Chimbote to the Hospital del Nino some 300 miles away in the Peruvian capital Lima where he will need to undergo an operation to treat the growths and give him a normal nose.

Paediatrician Jose Castillo said the unusual condition was the result of a very rare genetic deformity called Patau syndrome, which happens in just one in every 15,000 births. He said that the baby is currently in a stable condition and is keeping down the food he is being given and that his heart and respiratory system are also working fine.
The hospital's neonatal care boss Carlos Arrestegui Ramos said: 'He doesn't have difficulty breathing now, but he will need plastic surgery.'
He added that further tests would be needed to determine how else the boy's mutation had affected his body.

The mayor of the Nuevo Chimbote district in Lima, Valentin Fernandez, has presented the young parents with a gift of nappies, milk and money to cover their stay in the capital whilst their newborn receives treatment.

British Nigerian pervert jailed for masturbating on woman aboard London train

Peter Fabiyi, 32, received a 45-month prison sentence after he was arrested last year for masturbating on a female train passenger while riding the London Underground subway train.
A British pervert was jailed after he masturbated and then ejaculated on a terrified female train passenger. Peter Fabiyi approached the woman as she sat alone on a London Underground subway train in July last year.

The 32-year-old then performed the solo sex act when they were both alone in the carriage, after which she fled in panic.

Fabiyi admitted sexual assault at a hearing last month, and was sentenced to 45 months in prison at Blackfriars Crown Court in London.

Fabiyi was also handed a sexual harm prevention order, stopping him from approaching women sitting alone on trains except for staff.

At the time of the incident, British Transport Police followed Fabiyi to a station where he slid under ticket barriers to avoid paying a fare.

"This was a hugely shocking and frightening incident for this woman, and I commend her for having the awareness and courage to report the offense and support the prosecution," said Detective Constable Jennifer Brown, who led the investigation. "This sentence sends the clear message that sexual behavior on trains or at stations is completely unacceptable and police will use every method at our disposal to identify people responsible and bring you before the courts — it is simply not worth it
